Five top ‘last minute’ travel destinations

Five-top-‘last-minute’-travel-destinations

Offering spontaneous sentiments and cheaper prices, ‘last minute’ holidays are increasingly popular amongst Brits.

However, just because you are booking your holiday on the spur of the moment, it doesn’t mean that you should be limited on choice. A number of great destinations can be visited with hardly any notice. But what are the best destinations?

1. Paris
The close proximity of Paris to the UK is one of the main benefits it offers as a ‘last minute’ holiday destination. With flights, ferries and tunnels all connecting Paris to the UK, there is no reason why travellers couldn’t reach this romantic venue quickly and easily. French cuisine, beautiful landscapes and popular attractions such as the Eiffel Tower all await visitors here, offering convenience and diversity in equal measure.

2. London
A holiday doesn’t always have to take you abroad and a ‘last minute’ trip to the UK’s capital is a great way to enjoy a break from work and everyday life. With plenty of tourist attractions, stunning hotels and an extensive public transport network, London is an ideal destination for impulsive travellers.

3. Florida
Taking you slightly further afield, a trip to Florida is still viable for those making a late booking. With plenty of beaches and attractions for you to enjoy, along with numerous theme parks for children, Florida is a great place to visit throughout the year and benefits from regular flight connections from the UK.

4. Spain
A favourite destination of Brits, the popularity of resorts in this country means that flights are readily available throughout the year. For those after something a little different, why not visit Spain’s neighbour, Portugal? This is just as easily accessible and another destination perfect for a last minute trip.

5. Lake District
For those after a country retreat there is no better destination than the Lake District. Offering a relaxing way of life and some of the UK’s most impressive landscapes, this area can be reached in a few hours via cars or public transport.

Of course, half of the fun of a ‘last minute’ holiday is not deciding where to go until the time of booking. However, not all holiday considerations can be this flexible and you may wish to take out travel insurance before departing.
